DimmnEverybody needs a little “Danger” in their lives, and that is exactly what these boys are getting accomplished…

Formed in mid-2007, Danger Is My Middle Name has hit the ground running after members of other Chicago bands united, and decided to form a group that was dedicated and hard working right from the start. Right away, singer/guitarist Gabe Atkins, bassist Craig Miller, guitarist Bill Cox, and drummer Mickey Molinari jumped into the studio with producer Mike Hari to record a three song EP entitled: “When We Die Only Our Enemies Leave Roses,” and instantly began touring the Midwest just barely a month after the bands formation.

dimmncoverIn March 2007, still in its infant stages, the band went to work in Minneapolis, MN with producer Matt Kirkwold and James Harley of World Record Productions, (Quietdrive, Lucky Boys Confusion, AM Taxi), on a three song EP entitled “Revenge On The Radio,” released September 9, 2007. The EP, spawned the hit title track which, even before being released, had been picked up by college radio stations, several major market radio stations (Q101 Chicago, KRQ in Tuscon, AZ and 107.7 in Seattle, WA), and found placement on internet radio sites, as well as seeing more than 50,000 downloads in 2007-2008. On top of winning over radio stations, the band was featured on PureVolume and iSound, as well being the buzzseeker band on The Daily Chorus, and a featured unsigned band in Alternative Press magazine. DIMMN also managed to score major slots in 2008 on SouthBySouthWest, Milwaukee Summerfest, and Vans Warped Tour.

In 2009, the band hit the studio again, this time with producer Marc McClusky (Farewell, Hit The Lights, Ludo) and began working on their third EP in 2 years. “Sink Or Swim” was released on July 7, 2009 to a warm reception from fans and critics alike. The seven song EP received press from AbsolutePunk.net, FriendsOrEnemies, iSound, and Buzznet as well as becoming a featured CD on PureVolume.com. The band offered the release initially as a free download for the first week only and saw over 5,000 downloads that week. The record is still in the top 100 unsigned band releases on SmartPunk.com. Also in 2009, DIMMN again found themselves playing select dates on Vans Warped Tour and SXSW, as well as a high profile slot on Florida Music Festival.

Danger Is My Middle Name continues gaining a stronghold on the Chicago music scene with its growing fanbase, as well as striking gold in other Midwest markets including Minneapolis, Iowa City, Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, Dayton, St. Louis, and Northwest Indiana. Danger Is My Middle Name is a band that knows how to work hard, and knows what it takes to get to the top. With a promising future ahead, these boys sum up exactly what they are here to do in the lyrics to their song “Heroes & Underdogs” from their debut EP…”Tonight we’re taking over!”
